Charles
Turner of San Francisco has loved cars from a young age, and this
passion turned him to his first business idea in his mid-teen years.
Cars were essentially the start of his sales and business career, and
what allowed him to go into property initially. Now, as a successful
realtor, he can reflect on his passion for cars and where it has led him
today. Talking about Porsche models as well as his business beginnings,
it’s easy to see that he has come a long way.
The
start of his interest in cars was at the age of five, with a matchbox
slot car track. The fun he had playing with these cars led him to
develop a long-standing passion. Before attaining his driver’s license,
he had a mini-bike which was his first real automobile, and started his
passion for driving. These days, he’s upgraded from that bike and has
owned early Mustang Coupes and Fastbacks, Nissan 280z, Porsches and
Corvettes. His favorites have been the Porsches and the Mustangs, and
his passion can be seen in the detail with which he talks about his past
cars.
He
is currently excited about the possibilities within the automobile
industry, as luxury cars are becoming increasingly more affordable and
better quality. Cars are currently appealing to “a broader range of
people”, and luxury cars are becoming more practical without losing
their shiny appeal. The collector car market is also seeing a boom
recently, with some prices climbing up into the tens of millions. He
believes that it is at a similar level to “yesterday’s art market” in
terms of quality restoration and ever-climbing prices.
Loving
cars may seem like a pointless hobby, but for Charles Turner it
kick-started his career. At the age of fifteen he started a car parts
business with an older friend, which became more successful than they
could have hoped. By the time he was seventeen, he was financially
independent of his parents and him and his friend began to invest in
property. The basic business skills they learnt from this very first
exploit have served him well, as has the growing value of property
investments. It all started with his passion for cars and knowledge of
the subject.
Charles Turner San Francisco is still passionate about cars to this day, especially the C7
line of Corvettes. He is excited about the potential of the industry,
but these days he tends to focus on his jobs as realtor without going
into the car business. Cars are still a hobby and a passion, and he
won’t forget their role in the start of his career.
